Samsung launches Galaxy W

Incorporating phone functionalities on tablets, particularly on seven-inchers, are nothing new these days. That’s why Samsung decided to take a slightly different approach and came up with the Galaxy W, a big-ass smartphone which is reminiscent to the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3, but with a 7-inch HD display and is powered by quad-core processor with 1.5GB RAM.

Expandable up to 64GB
8 megapixel rear camera
1.9 megapixel front-facing camera

Bluetooth 4.0
GPS w/ A-GPS, GLONASS
3200mAh battery
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean

Apart from the things listed above, some of the other notable features of the ginormous Galaxy W include the addition of nifty multi-tasking apps (split-screen, pop-up video, etc.) to its software arsenal, as well as a faux-leather-covered posterior which similar to ones found on the Galaxy Note 3.

The new Samsung Galaxy W currently retails for 499,400 won or roughly around Php19,200 in the current conversion rate and is available in Black, Red and White variants. As of the moment, the handset is only being offered in South Korea and there’s no word if it’ll ship outside of that country.

I Like it – lets see how the price will be for import version. Maybe Asus Fonepad 7 2014 is better though !

Yung asus fonepad7 nalang. Medyo off ang camera spec pero desente na ang spec sa presyo. Sana may ganitong form factor ang LG. Or yung nexus 7 ay may phone version. Samsung is not for me.

huh? 3200 mah?? yung tab plus ko nga dual core lang yun mabilis malobat. yan pa kaya na may lte pa at quadcore pa? .. failed ang battery 7 inch yan at napakapanget na tignan kapag ginawa mo siyang pangtawag .hahaha

While no price and availability outside korea is stated, it should be noted that Asus Fonepad 7 (ME175, not not newer release) has almost the same specs (no LTE, less storage (not an issue with SD expansion), maybe poorer camera)for 8,990. So unless Samsung could sell this for 12k or less, it will be overpriced.

In my honest opinion, Google Nexus 2013 is still the best android tablet to date.

Yes, but this is not the same phone. It’s interesting why Samsung used the same model name for their new 7-inch smartphone.
