Samsung releases Galaxy Folder 2 Android flip phone

After releasing its predecessor, Samsung Galaxy Folder, last July 2013, Samsung has yet made another comeback with Galaxy Folder 2 in its home country, South Korea, just last Friday.

The Galaxy Folder 2 sports a 3.5-inch touchscreen display with 480 x 800 (WVGA) resolution, as well as a T9 “keyless” keyboard, all housed in a metal body. When it comes to its shooting capabilities, the Galaxy Folder 2 offers an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front facing. Powering it is a Snapdragon 425 SoC, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage with microSD card support, Android Marshmallow, and 1,950mAh battery.

Also, the device comes with a physical key, named as the “social app key”, that allows users to easily access their social media and connect to other major applications. Samsung has mentioned that there will be two versions of the said device based on connectivity (LTE and 3G-only).

The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 is available with a price tag of 297,000 won or USD 260, and will come in two colors: Black and Burgundy. There are no announcements yet that the device will be released worldwide.
