Sony launches Xperia Z in the Philippines

So it happened earlier than we initially expected. Sony Philippines, today, launched their new flagship smartphone in the Philippines — the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL.

We’ve already seen the Sony Xperia Z in action back in Singapore when we attended the regional launch there last month {see story and first impressions here}.

Sony Xperia Z specs:
5-inch full HD display (1920×1080), @ 441ppi
Sony Mobile Bravia Engine II
Qualcomm MDM9215M Snapdragon S4 Krait 1.5GHz quad-core
Adreno 320 Graphics
2GB RAM
16GB internal storage
up to 64GB via microSD card
DC-HSDPA 42Mbps, LTE 100Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, dual-band
Bluetooth 4.0
NFC
GPS w/ aGPS support, GLONASS
Li-IOn 2370mAh battery
Dustproof (IP5X) and Water resistant (IPX57)
Android 4.1.2 Jellybean
Dimension: 139 x 71 x 7.9mm
Weight: 146g

This is the only superphone so far that we’ve seen that can stand some hard weather — dust-proof, water-proof (and probably rain-proof as well).

Here’s a video demo we took this afternoon:

The expected retail price of the Xperia Z is about Php32,900 while the Sony Xperia ZL will retail for Php29,900. Expected availability is end of February March 2013 or sometime in April March. More photos, video demo and first impression review here.

Dami niyong reklamo. Depende naman sa gumagamit yan. Kung gusto niyo ng high capacity battery mag N2 kayo or G pro. Hindi kayo pinipilit ng sony na bumili. Haha. Tsaka yung isa na nag mention ng link ng engadget, eto lang masasabi ko, isang iSheep ang engadget. Daming review dian na iba, check nio. :)

9hrs of heavy usage 3.5hrs of screen time 4g bluetooth ON with push notification. Take note its a 1080p display with quad core processor. 3.5hrs of screen time is good with 4g connection active.

mahina nga battery nito. Quad core processor tapos 5 inch pa with only 2370mAh battery? imagine 5inch screen nito, (kulang na lang magiging tablet na). malakas ang kain nito sa batt. sana ginawa man lang 3000mAh, ayos na sana.
