Sony Xperia Acro S hands-on, first impressions

Announced back in May, the Xperia Acro S is Sony’s version of the Xperia S but with a semi-armored chassis for weather proofing.

The box comes with the usual accessories — charging cable, earphones, additional earbuds, wall charger; and a cradle which you don’t normally get with a new purchase of a handset (the last one I’ve seen one is with the HTC Rhyme).

The look and feel of the Acro S is very similar to the Xperia Ion but the hardware specification is closer to the Xperia S.

The Xperia Acro S features a scratch-resistant, mineral glass display with wet finger tracking. It is also passed the IP55 and IP57 Ratings for dust and water resistance. That means you can submerge this unit under water (1m deep) for at most 30 minutes, just like the Xperia Go.

Since it’s water-resistant, there are no open ports on the handset and everything else is sealed or locked — every connectivity ports are protected with a rubber stopper.

Sony Xperia Acro S LT26w specs:
• 4.3-inch HD Reality Display @ 720p, 1280×720 pixels, 342ppi
• Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon 1.5GHz dual core processor
• Mobile BRAVIA Engine
• Adreno 220 GPU
• 1GB RAM
• 16GB internal storage

The handset is sold in limited stocks (available in pink) over at Widget City for Php24,350 (see listing here).

how come in widget city there’s no package included? shouldn’t there be a headset or a wall charger? i was hoping that the xperia go in widget city would have a wrist and arm strap for the yellow one just like in the video reviews in youtube.
