Sony Xperia P2 Leaked Ahead of Launch

Sony might go old school on the design of their upcoming mid-range smartphone called the Xperia P2 – or at least what the handful of pictures of the yet-to-be-announced handset suggests which shows a transparent strip just below the screen.

The iconic transparent strip of glass/plastic was first popularized by the company during 2012 when they initially the Xperia S shortly after Sony severed ties with Ericsson.

The said handset’s design is employed on lower-tiered handsets like the Xperia P and Xperia U. Now, Sony is allegedly taking a page out of their old handbook with the design of the leaked Xperia P2.

As suggested by the leaked photos, Sony has made some refinements on the Xperia P2’s design by giving it a neat screen-to-body ratio, resulting to an almost all-screen, near bezel-less façade.

The leaked images also gave us a look of the Xperia P2’s vital stats. Surprisingly, the rumored smartphone measures 10.9mm at its thickest, which is rather chunky in today’s standards. But it’s been said that the added thickness is due to the handset’s beefy 4,240mAh battery pack – a good trade-off in our opinion.

Along with a fairly detailed look at its design, one of the leaked pictures is accompanied by the alleged specs sheet of the Xperia P2. It includes 5.2-inch Triluminos Display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, a Snapdragon 810 quad-core processor clocked 1.9Ghz, 3GB of RAM and an sizeable 32GB internal storage, as well as a 12.1-megapixel Exmor RS sensor for the rear camera and 5.1MP front shooter.

Sony has yet to confirm any of the aforementioned information about the alleged Xperia P2. So until it’s official, take this information with the usual grain of salt.

ibig sabihin mali ang definition nila ng bezel sa link na ito?

      http://www.quora.com/Whats-a-bezel-on-a-smartphone

“In layman’s terms, smartphone bezel is all the plastic/metal on the front of a phone that isn’t screen space. For example, the bezel on this old iPhone is white:”

I remember those S and X10s. muntik ko nang mabili. Buti na lang that time puro mumurahing Sony lang nasa malls dito sa amin. Imagine how annoying it would have felt owning a flagship phone that Chinese phones surpassed only two years later?

Anyhoo, it would save Sony considerable amount in engineering fees by using old matrices that look better. Kinda like Chrysler using old Mercedes E-klasse frames for the 300.
