This Google Nexus Prime might be next

There’s this rumor about the next Android Nexus phone that will be released next quarter by Google and they’re naming it the Nexus Prime. The specs are drool-worthy so it definitely attracted a lot of speculative attention.

Samsung Nexus S

The name Google Nexus Prime sounds believable but I thought the name feels like it’s been timed with the showing of Transformers 3. Besides the term “Prime” does not reflect a 3rd-generation Nexus handset.

Well, Samsung was able to convince Google to name their co-branded handset to Nexus S instead of Nexus Two so it’s possible that this time, Samsung (who is rumored to be the partner for this new project) might have a hand with the naming.

But here are some more details — 720p-resolution display (1280×720 pixels) with a Super AMOLED HD, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and a TI OMAP4460 processor (which is a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore 1.5Ghz and PowerVR SGX540).

If Samsung is the partner, then they should be using a dual-core Orion ARM Cortex-A9 chip with quad-core MALI 400 GPU.

well i am using the nexus s now and it works real gud no problem. i would like still to see a google prime with a htc body and htc ui latest version that would be unbeatable. i still beleive the prime will be a monster but i prefer to wait for the htc vigor.

Plus this one: “Google could be working with multiple carriers and multiple OEMs on their own exclusive Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) halo devices, and that they may all launch around the same time.”

    That should be interesting.

Pwede! hehe but i think AndroidOS naming is in alphabetical order.

Tama! It started with Cupcake. Then Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, and lastly Honeycomb. After Ice Cream Sandwich it would start with letter “J”. Perhaps Jelly, Jam, or Juicyfruit (LOL). Bottomline is, codes are named after desserts. :)

I’m guessing why there are no “A” and “B”. Baka kasi nag-start sa “Beta”. hehe.

I think google should give other android manufacturers a chance to make a nexus device. LG should do the next nexus. I love lg’s hardware. Doesn’t feel cheap unlike samsung’s glossy and plasticky appearance.

Tama! I am happy with Froyo 2.2. I consider myself a techie pero bakit wala naman akong makitang flaw sa Froyo as far as my needs are concerned. Very stable ang Froyo so I wonder why others really want a Gingerbread upgrade and so on. Now eto naman ang Ice Cream sandwich.

This should be done or we would be stock with nokia’s menu or android 1.0. I hope android’s apps will be compatible with mainstream os like windows ala sun’s open office to ms’ office.
