Top LTE Smartphones under 10K (2014)

LTE connectivity has always been one of the main factors that drive the price of a smartphone. In recent times though, chipmakers like Qualcomm have released a cheaper processor with LTE chips, which resulted to an influx of cheap LTE smartphones with a sub-Php10K price tag.

Despite of the fact that not every one of us still has access to 4G/LTE signal in our respective locations, LTE connectivity remains one of the most sought after feature of today’s smartphone. That being said, we have come up with our list of 10 LTE-capable handsets that are priced below ten grand.

This list is arranged with the prices in descending order.

Cherry Mobile Ultra


The Ultra is the second the LTE-capable smartphone that Cherry Mobile released. It’s bigger, yet cheaper than the W900 LTE.

Nokia Lumia 635


The Nokia Lumia 635 is the only Windows Phone in the lineup. It was launched locally in May of this year and is offered exclusively on Globe.

The Redmi Note 4G LTE is the LTE variant of Xiaomi’s phablet and is the biggest handset on our list. It’s not yet available locally, but it currently has a CNY999 (Php7,299) price tag.

The Honor 4 Play is one of the first handsets from the Huawei stable that runs on Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC. It’s not yet available in the local market, but it’s being sold for CNY799 or little under six thousand in our local currency.

The MyPhone Rio LTE is currently the cheapest LTE-capable smartphone that’s already available locally. One of the two MediaTek-powered smartphones in the group, it was initially sold for Php6,499 but recently got a Php1,000 price cut.

    hay naku anu bng silbi ng LTE phones na yankung ang internet connection sa pinas is mahal pa sa ginto at bagal pa a pagong !!!!
    kahapon tumawag ako sa PLDT hotline 171,, tinanu ko sakanila about broadband plans at rules about early disconnection if bad ang service quality.sabi daw me bago cla ULTERA which is LTE daw ,pg plan 999 (pesos ) mka tangap ako ng 300 mb daily with the speed of “upto ” 3 mbps (anu to joke ???hehehhe anu ma gawa ko sa 300 mb) tapos pg ubos na ang 300 mb ko e magiging 256 kbps na lng ang speed ko,,eh payag na sana ako dun pero me isang buisiiit na word “UPTO ” ang gamit nila eh…. wg po nyu kalimutan is 36 months po ang lock in period nila
    eto ang masarap pakingan—- tinanu ko if palpak ang serbisyo niyo at gust ko mg paputol ang kontrata ko maaga pa, e answer ng tga PLDT is mg antay ako ng 5 months bago ako mg apply for early disconnection at mg bayad ako ng the rest 25 months in full cash payment!!! anu to bobo…??? tina tanga tayo ng mga telco natin..wala bng batas para dito,, kala ko me customer rights tayu!!!????hirap nga buhay dito sa pinas eh mas mahihirap pg ganun ang mangyari satin….ng iiyak na lng ako cguro,,,,

      Bobo mo naman alam mo ba ibig sabihin ng ESTIMATE? Binibigyan ka lang ng idea kung magkano sya pag ibinenta na dito. Sana bago mag-comment eh ginagamit muna ang kapiraso mong utak o wala ata eh. At isa pa pwede naman i-edit ulit ng author ang info dito to make it accurate in the future. Nagdudunong-dunongan tanga naman

    In the Philippines, you can only get a Xiaomi phone through Lazada because it is the only official Xiaomi distributor here. Of course you could try getting it through the grey market, pero hindi ka sure na original Xiaomi yun.

    Yes, marami rin ang nagiimitate sa Xiaomi even though it is a China based Phone Company.

    hihintayin ko yang Huawei Honor 4 Play na yan…
    CM Ultra looks promising.. kaso JB. 4.3 pa lang…
    Lumia 635 sana kayo 512mb lang ang RAM..
    Parang ok yung Alcatel OneTouch Pop S3 as backup phone..
    In fairmess sa MyPhone Rio LTE.. 4.4 kitkat na siya at nag price cut pa..
    tsk.. others where unavailable here :( at 4.3 JB pa lang..

    i think I’m gonna get the Rio LTE or OneTouch Pop S3 hahaha

    Since Nokia Lumia 635 is exclusive for Globe, there is the Lumia 636 which is openline although it is a bit expensive but it has a 1GB RAM unlike the former.
