The handset market is slowly being saturated by Android phones. There’s at least one from every major manufacturer around — Samsung, HTC, Sony-Ericsson, LG, Motorola.
Even Acer and Lenovo has one though it’s not yet released locally. By my count, we have over a dozen handsets on Android locally:
- HTC Tattoo
- HTC Magic
- HTC Hero
- HTC Legend
- HTC Desire
- HTC Wildfire
- Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700
- Samsung Galaxy S i9000
- Sony-Ericsson Xperia X10
- Sony-Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini
- Sony-Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro
- LG Optimus GT540
- Motorola Milestone
Two more Android phones are coming from Samsung this month. RedFox is also launching their own Android phone. So which one is for you?
I just got my Motorola Defy last Saturday, March 19th and all I can say is that I love it! Truly awesome too, since it was my very first smartphone purchase. :-)
For your interest, I got it from eBay.ph for P16.5k, with one year parts and service Motorola warranty. ^__^
I saw Moto Defy worth 22,800 here in laoag city, ilocos norte. ipon muna ako baon, im gonna buy one.
Hi there! Help please. Is the Motorola Defy available in the Phils? If yes, where can i buy this? Thanks
I was thinking before kung ano ang bibilhin ko, my sister had spica, ang pinagpipilian ko is x10 mini pro dahil sa keyboard or yun samsung wave dahil sa super amoled screen. And now i end up buying motorola milestone…very nice smartphone…sulit ang pera ko.
I was before torn between SE x10 minipro and samsung spica. After reading all the reviews (real users and experts), I bought my first Android – Samsung Spica. And I am happy with my phone right now. I even muster enough courage to root (sort of equivalent to jailbreaking in iphone lingo) on my own, when i found a very easy to follow guide. BTW, i did not even dare jailbreaking my iphone by myself.
Having an android, will take some getting used to, specially for begginers. But there are plenty of sites that will guide newbies on how to maximize their android to its potential.
Xperia X10 Mini Pro from Sony Ericsson
Really nice stylish and compact :)
Love it!!!!
recently upgraded to x10 mini pro from my SE P1i
ibang iba tlga android. if only the X10 had a qwerty board. xnxa na i just cant live w/o a qwerty pad
@ Frances- Thanks. But I do hope you’ll remember the site where you found the instructions on manually updating to Froyo. All the sites that i tried have broken links
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10/X8 and HTC Google Nexus One.
One thing I don’t like about the X10 is it doesn’t have a multi touch support yet. :(
I’m still looking forward to an Android platform with a secondary camera. Hope it’s in the making.
Yes i agree to John,
SE X10 Xperia,
Best design.

it’s x10 mini pro for me! love the qwerty, wifi and android apps that i experiment with!
@John Michael – First time I heard that Froyo was released I found instructions online on how to update manually. Didn’t wait for the OTA update anymore. I’m sorry, but I don’t remember the site where I got the instructions, but I think you’ll be able to Google it easily.
So tempting to get a new Android phone with so many choices out there, but I still love my Nexus One. Great hardware + great OS = best phone.
wala bang android phone na “made in china” ?
What do you need dual sim for? It’s just a batt hog.
I guess Tim Bray http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Bray have read my post here that’s why he posted this: http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2010/08/nexus-one-developer-phone.html. LOL
Kidding aside, sana available ito kahit sa mga Android developers here in the Philippines.
PS. Thanks sa reply @hahaharvee
is SE X10 good.?
