ZTE Grand S now official, packs 5-inch 1080p display

First leaked back in December, the ZTE Grand S has now become official as the companies next flagship handset. The Grand S comes with s a 5-inch screen and joins the pack of full HD 1080p display smartphones.

The Grand S is also among the thinnest of the full HD smartphones announced this week at CES. At 6.9mm, its half a millimeter short of Alcatel’s One Touch Idol Ultra (6.45mm) which currently holds the title as thinnest smartphone.

ZTE Grand S specs:
5.0-inch Full HD 1080p display @ 1920×1080 pixels, 441ppi
Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.7GHz quad-core processor
2GB RAM
16GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
HSPA+, LTE
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, dual-band, DLNA
Bluetooth
GPS w/ aGPS support
13MP rear autofocus camera, LED flash
1080p video recording @ 30fps
2MP front-facing camera, 1080p video
Dolby Digital Sound
Li-Ion battery 1780mAh
Android 4.1 Jellybean

Everything looks pretty good and the handset design is actually real nice. However, the battery capacity is merely 1780mAh which might pose as a concern. We really can’t blame ZTE if that’s the best they can squeeze into that 6.9mm body.

Specs-sheet is promising, except for the FREAKIN’ battery!

Nice! But the battery, unforgivable hahah! Well, for sure it will hit the market at a very friendly price.

There are other options anyway, like the Oppo Find 5, HTC Butterfly and the best for the moment, XPERIA Z and ZL.

I think, kelangan nyang naka plug parati sa charger kung gaming ang gusto mo. lol! grabe naman yang 1780mah. Medyo dehado sa battery power.

WTF ZTE? Flare is almost 1500mah battery and cant last for 4 hours of gaming.

You put 1780 battery into a quad core with 1080p display?

1-2 hrs of gaming or video playback?

I wish phones with these specs have dual sim functionality…

Not possible with a slim profile. It will require more battery to operate two radios at the same time.
