BlackBerry JamHack 2012 launches across Asia Pacific

Research In Motion (RIM) announced its first simultaneous Asia Pacific (APAC) wide Hackathon called the BlackBerry JamHack.

The BlackBerry JamHack is an event wherein four-member teams consisting of developers, designers and/or entrepreneurs compete with each other in developing apps for BlackBerry 10. The JamHack will take place in ten different cities across Asia Pacific over two consecutive weekends starting on October 12.

BlackBerry JamHack 2012 happens in ten major Asia Pacific cities, as follows:
• Oct 12-14, 2012: Manila, Delhi, Bangalore, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore
• Oct 19-21, 2012: Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, Melbourne, Shanghai, Jakarta

In the Philippines, it will start on October 12, 10pm, at the Alphaland Southgate Mall, (6F, Boracay and Balesin Function Rooms), Pasong Tamo Extension corner EDSA, Makati City.

Winning teams will represent their city in the Asia Pacific Finals and will receive an all-expenses paid trip to BlackBerry Jam Asia in Bangkok on November 29 and 30. The winning team at the BlackBerry Jam Asia in Bangkok will receive the grand prize of:

• US$10,000 in cash
• All-expense paid trip to BlackBerry 10 global launch
• BlackBerry App World marketing for 2 months following the BlackBerry 10 launch in Asia, Middle East and Africa (where applicable) plus 1 week marketing in North America, Latin America and Europe (where applicable)
• Dedicated technical & business consultancy for up to three months after the launch of BlackBerry 10 in the team’s market
