First ever 4DX cinema opens in the Philippines

Today marks the official opening of the country’s first 4DX cinema over at Bonifacio High Street and it will be showing The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as its starting film. 4DX cinema not only delivers movies through visual and audio like ordinary theatres, but it also involves motion, scents, mist, wind, and more.

4DX has been commercially-introduced back in 2009 and is owned by South Korea-based CJ 4DPLEX. It is a motion picture technology that aims to tickle all the senses of the viewers while watching, thus making their experiences as immersive as possible.

Elements inside a 4DX cinema include:

Seat motion and vibration
Jets of air or water
Mist
Wind
Strobe lighting
Fog or smoke
Aromatic vapours from a collection of 1000 scents (probably ranging from smell of flowers to stench of garbage, depending on the scene)
Bubbles

As of last month, there are 21 countries that have this technology for cinemas, with Philippines adding to the list. It officially opens today at Central Square Building, Bonifacio High Street and advanced ticket purchases can be done there. If you’re wondering how much a 4DX ticket is, it’s a bit pricier than IMAX at Php450 a pop. To view the full schedule of screening head on over to Ayala Mall’s SureSeats website 14.

HCG will definitely not cause weight loss single-handedly.
Both Kim Kardashian and Jessica Alba have recently
been revealed to have cellulite: Kardashian by photographic evidence and Alba by her
own admission. Both are guaranteed to bring your hairs color back to life and do away with those
    unsightly grays.

An important key note is that the characters all admit their wrongs but sometimes’t apparently get past
them. In this crazy thought, just weeks after voices are derived
from Marvel who showed how little we were holding happy while using treatment in some of the latest video gaming, that they had
had starring Marvel heroes. Thank God we now have
an intelligent President who takes time to gather information before he runs
up to the nearest camera and grandstands, or simply sit in dumb silence
without the capability to understand what actually
    transpired.

Well me and my son tried this out last May 11. In my opinion, I was not that excited with it though my kid enjoyed it and wanted to go back.

    Movie: Amazing Spiderman 2
    My points:
*strobe lights bothers the movie (you will be looking around)
*real smokes sometimes block or distort the screen and also even if the scene is change, still there are smoke around (as my bro suggest, there should be an exhaust fan)
*swish sound due to high pressure air which destroys the sound
*its just an ordinary 3d glass movie unlike imax
*not comfortable seat for a long movie (i usually sit an indian seat)

IMAX will be kinda obsolete because of this… The first and last time I have watched an IMAX movie was Superman Returns. I wasn’t impressed as most parts of the film isn’t in 3D and a waste of trying to fit my glasses into the shutter lens. The quality is barely noticable and you will find yourself leaning back as you can’t see the whole screen because it’s too big and too close to everyone.

I’d love to give 4DX a try. I did like the Shrek 4D (but everyone would agree that the Transformers ride is infinitely better). However, it’s difficult to make a movie a ride and most people won’t last more than 15mins. At least 4DX would be a good compromise.

Plus, movies are cheaper here compared to developed countries (they are trying to compete with piracy) because in other countries, AAA 3D only titles can cost you up to $25 (PHP1.1k) and we think this is a ridiculous price for a movie. Hopefully, prices for movies stay low

Superman Returns was just one of the few movies that has 10 to 15 mins 3D parts only (same with Harry Potter). You should first read the description before going to the movies first. Also, maybe you find yourself leaning back is because you were seating on the lower front of the theater.
