Flappy Bird was ‘addictive’ according to developer

A few days after the Flappy Bird takedown, Dong Nguyen breaks his silence about his decision.

Dong Nguyen is the developer behind the Flappy Bird game. He recently had an interview with Forbes and he said, “Flappy Bird was designed to play in a few minutes when you are relaxed, but it happened to become an addictive product. I think it has become a problem. To solve that problem, it’s best to take down Flappy Bird. It’s gone forever.

Yes, you read that right, it is gone forever. Well, in the app stores it is but not for good since a lot of users still have on their phones and the installers of the said game are available online.

Nguyen also declined to confirm the revenue he gets from in-app ads which is estimated at $50,000. He didn’t exactly said how much but it is a lot.

The take down was also not a mistake for him since he have thought it through. Still, other games developed by him are still in the Apple App Store for your enjoyment. We just hope that it will be available for Google Play Store too.

No shit. It makes people rage quit without making them actually do the “quit” part.
