Huawei Ascend Mate shipping next week for Php21,000

We’ve got confirmation yesterday that Huawei Philippines is set to release the Huawei Ascend Mate in the local market next week (units are already in HK and heading to PH as of this writing).

Huawei Ascend Mate specs:
6.1-inch IPS LCD 720p display @ 1280×720 pixels, 241ppi
Corning Gorilla Glass
Huawei K3V2 1.5GHz quad-core processor
2GB RAM
16GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
HSPA+ 42Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, dual-band, WiFi Direct, DLNA, WiFi hotspot

8MP camera with LED flash
1080p video recording
1.2MP front-facing camera

According to our source close to Huawei PH, the target retail price of the Ascend Mate will be around Php21,000 or probably even lower. It will likely compete with the Galaxy Note 2 which has a smaller 3100mAh battery rating.

We’ll try to secure a review unit next week and get you more details.

At that price range… I’d rather get the Galaxy Note 2 if I were you. Coz as a user, i’m very much happy with it. Very much Recommended! :)

It really depends on what you would like to do more on a phone. If you know you’ll need precision like on drawings, CAD, etc and you know a specialized pen would help you, then go for the Note2. If you have no need of what I said above, go for the Note2 still. It’s just better overall, just add a few more and get the SGN2 with LTE.
