Lazada gets more funding from Tengelmann

In what is considered as a huge win for Lazada by the company’s CEO Maximilian Bittner, Tengelmann Group has recently joined in the act and invests on the online department store along with other Rocket Internet investors.

Lazada

Not too long ago, we’ve reported that JP Morgan also backed Lazada’s effort to expand their business and improve the quality of their services. Unlike other investors, however, this is not the first time that the German holding firm has invested on Rocket Internet’s ventures.

There was no mention of the exact amount of the recent investment but according to sources, Rocket Internet was able to raise almost USD20 million from Tengelmann.

I totally agee! I tried to buy gadgets from their online store several times, to benefit from free shipping door to door, but when i compared the items with the shops in the mall, their’s way too expensive.

500-pesos difference? That’s the cost of convenience.

Don’t really expect online stores to offer products cheaper than their counterparts found in shopping malls. Just imagine, pupunta ka sa mall. Cost ng transpo, travel time, merienda, tapos energy. All you know, baka mas napagastos ka pa after going to a mall.

I agree with booboo. Pag pupunta ka sa mall, sobrang init, sayang gasolina, maiirita ka sa traffic at mapapagastos ka pa sa pagkain pagdating mo.
