Panasonic unveils Lumix ZS200 and GX9 compact cameras

Panasonic recently took the wraps off of the two new members of the Lumix camera line. One is a 20MP 1-inch sensor compact shooter, the Lumix ZS200, while the other is a 20.3MP Micro Four Thirds camera with no low-pass filter, the Lumix GX9.

First up, is the Lumix ZS200 Travel Zoom, which is the company’s newest Travel Zoom flagship. Apart from the earlier mentioned 20MP 1-inch sensor, the camera also features a 24mm ultra-wide angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens, 5-axis hybrid optical image stabilizer plus, a 3″ touchscreen, and an upgraded Live View Finder (LVF).

The Lumix ZS200 makes use of Panasonic’s Depth from Defocus (DFD) technology along with Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi. The camera is able to take QFHD 4K video in 3840 x 2160 resolution at 30 or 24fps in MP4 format.

Next up is the Lumix GX9, a single lens mirrorless shooter. Apart from the earlier mentioned 20.3MP Micro Four Thirds no low-pass filter sensor, it also features a 5-axis Dual Image Stabilizer, wide-screen LVF with 90-degree tilt, and a 3-inch touchscreen.

The camera, like the Lumix ZS200, also makes use of Panasonic’s DFD technology. It can shoot 4k videos in 3840 x 2160 resolution at 30 or 24fps in MP4 format. Apart from that, the device also has Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi for connectivity.

The Lumix ZS200 will be available on March 20 with a price tag of $799.99 (~Php 41,583) and comes in Black or Silver. While the Lumix GX9 will be available in March with a price tag of $999 (~Php 51,928) and comes in Black or Silver. Additional accessories, extended eyepiece ($19.99 or ~Php 1,039) and handgrip ($59.99 or ~Php 3,118), for the GX9 will also be sold on launch day.
