Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 to land in March for 16k?

Local media over at Bulgaria got some details on the much leaked and anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, specifically pricing and release details.

Tablet.bg reports that the tablet will launch by the end of March. The WiFi only version will be around 699 Bulgarian leva (359 EUR).  We have to note that the European price is significantly higher than the usual. Take for example, the iPad Mini costing around 340 EUR, while here on the Philippines, it’s significantly cheaper.

We just did simple proportions, and we can estimate that the base model for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is expected to hit the Philippines between Php16,000 and Php17,000.

The report also said that a 3G variant may be coming at 869 Bulgarian leva (449 EUR) as well. Applying the same methods, we can estimate that the 3G Galaxy Note 8.0 may be worth an extra Php3,000.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 expected specs:
8-inch display @ 1280×800 pixels, 189ppi
1.6GHz quad-core Exynos processor
2GB RAM
16GB and 32GB internal storage
with microSD support up to 32GB
5MP rear camera
1.3MP front-facing camera
Bluetooth 4.0
Li-Ion 4600 mAh battery
Android 4.2 Jellybean with TouchWiz
S-Pen

Possibly even with voice and text capabilities.

it’s good to see that Mr Freking seemed to take all the constructive (part of the) criticisms and those are evident on his last few articles.

keep it up. and always remember to look at criticisms as learning points.

    cheers!

the Note is initially intended for a niche market of designers, artists, architects and engineers and rich kids who have money to burn. the need for a very efficient “phone”, tablet and a scratch paper to jot down ideas and lots of good apps addresses such needs.

the cost of the unit is nothing compared to the benefits it gives to a skilled user.

the S-Pen killed the Ipad, period!

maganda nga specs pero it lacks compatibility with the apps. kahit maganda ang specs nyan kung di naman stable ang mga apps ng android eh laggy pa din mga games nyan.. ok siguro ito kung puro personalization, watching movies, music and reading lang..

Samsung should have made the processor into 2.0 Ghz with the RAM of 3 or 4GB, and up to 128GB of expandable storage. That would kill the competition. Hopefully the screen is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

I think if it would be priced near iPad Mini, most people would still go with the Mini. This should be priced competitively, and I mean way cheaper than iPad Mini since if it was me at same price point I would choose iPad Mini because of quality optimized apps and more mature market compared to Android which have limited optimized apps for tablets (though the Cherry Fusion Bolt @ Php 4,000 is really tempting)
