Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Samsung Galaxy S6: spec comparison

With the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S6, a lot of you might be wondering if it’s worth the upgrade from the previous Galaxy S5. What are the differences? Read on to find out.

Since a lot of people have been clamoring for more premium design from Samsung, the company had to cut some edges. Whether or not these compromises could be justified is debatable, and you will find yourself arguing if it’s worth the upgrade.

You can see above that the Galaxy S6 is surely a spec upgrade, but it drops water-resistance, expandable storage and a larger battery for a sleeker and better looking build.

Personally, it would have been okay with me if Samsung added a little more thickness to the phone just to accomodate a larger battery and an SD card slot. How about you? Do you consider the Galaxy S6 a worthy successor to the GS5? Feel free to leave your comments down below!

When I first put in the battery, android showed a red X on the battery. But digging in, it did say charging. I really didnt like this red X and it was hard to tell it was charging. I decide to return it. But as a last test, I let the battery run full out to 0%. Then I did a full charge. It charged slow and without the red-X and showed the lightning bolt charging icon. Now it works great and has quite good lifetime. So dont freak out at if you get the red-X. By the way, the seller also included a nice fresh charging cable. Good seller!

Samsung is going down. The worst ever. I’d rather buy iphone 6 than this Korean clone!

Material used does not necessarily mean design. In this case, the materials were improved (more premium) but the overall design is just as smugly.

There is a thin line between design and performance, however, the way I see it, this threshold of thickness has not been reached to trade off battery capacity! Samsung has really done it this time! they are going down!

Clearly, some one at samsung thinks it’s a good idea to mimic apple’s iphone strategy… with the metal premium design, no sd card, not water/dust proof, sacrificing battery size for the design sake. samsung did not learn from neighbor lg with the g3, quad hd may be eye watering but eats up a lot of juice. despite battery saving software modification, that amount of pixels would still need energy. of course, iphones still sucks at battery life. i guess the market will decide if the curved screen is the next big thing for smartphones (which i doubt)… front facing speakers (hell yeah! I wonder why no body’s adapting it).

    Yugatech,

Did Samsung say why they removed the microsd slot this time around?

    Thanks

What is the point of having a thin phone if it is having a pathetic battery capacity. With the specs, surely you will always need a power bank with you all the time. It should be a little thicker to accomodate bigger battery.

yeah right it would be better to add more thickness just to accomodate larger battery and the sd card slot
