Samsung intros 120GB & 250GB 840 Evo SSD

Samsung wants to dominate yet another product category in the Philippines, and this time it’s the Solid State Drive (SSD) market with the introduction of two new capacity drives.

Samsung’s SSD line has been around for some time but it’s only now that they’re actually actively marketing their SSDs in the Philippines.

The Samsung 840 Evo is particularly more palatable to the consumer market but they also have high-performance variants like the 840 Pro. Samsung is targeting users who are using laptops and ultrabooks that still uses HDDs or Hybrids.

Samsung has SSD variants with capacities of up to 500GB and 1TB but the first ones they’re releasing in the market is just the 120GB and the 250GB as these are the typical storage capacities ebing offered in ultrabooks.

The package includes a Data Migration Software that will assist you in migrating from your old drive to the new SSD, including the OS, settings and content.

The 120GB SSD retails for Php5,390 and the 250GB SSD with sell for Php9,290. Both should be available in PC stores nationwide.

    What “Evo Pro” are you talking about? There’s no such thing. It’s just the 840, 840 Pro and the 840 Evo.
