Sony Xperia M2 arriving 4th week of April for Php13,990

Sony Philippines is set to release the Xperia M2 by the 4th week of April with a suggested retail price of Php13,990, probably making it one of the most affordable LTE-capable handsets in the market.

Sporting the same design as the high-end Xperia Z-series, the M2 packs a decent set of hardware with LTE connectivity.

Sony Xperia M2 specs:
4.8-inch qHD (960 x 540) TFT display, 229ppi
1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core CPU
Adreno 305 GPU
1GB RAM
8GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
8 megapixel Exmor RS rear camera w/ LED flash
1080p video recording
4G LTE 100Mbps
NFC
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
GPS with aGPS, GLONASS
Android 4.3 Jellybean
Li-Ion 2,300mAh battery
139.6 x 71.1 x 8.6 mm
148 grams

Take note though that there’s no water-proofing or dust-proofing for this model, unlike the Z-series.

With a suggested retail price of just Php13,990, the Sony Xperia M2 will be available in Sony stores nationwide by the end of April.

This week, we are here in Jakarta, Indonesia to attend the launch of Sony’s Xperia line for Southeast Asia and Oceania.

A total of 4 devices were introduced — the Xperia Z2, the Xperia Z2 tablet, the Xperia T2 Ultra and the Xperia M2.

The Sony Xperia M2 is a solid, if unspectacular, phone that ticks the boxes and brings enough of the Japanese brand’s tech to make it feel wanted. However, it’s unlikely to be number one on any prospective buyer’s wishlist.

Why isn’t the M2 in stores yet? Based on this article it’s supposed to be out end of April.

if you come from old sony budget series like the miro/tipo/e/neo etc this is a great upgrade. this is like xperia Z mini for budget conscious mid range phone users

mas maganda talaga yung sp kasi mas mahal yung introductory price nya nun. and high to mid range yung sp, eto parang successor lng ng xperia m to.
