This version of Augmented Reality is creepy

Wearable augmented reality technology is very promising. It will literally change how you look at your surroundings, keeping you well-informed while hopefully, making you smarter.

The closest thing we have with that kind of technology is Google Glass which is currently under development.

Fast forward into the future and we can expect augmented reality to be perfected just like how it is depicted through the world of “Sight”. It’s technologically awesome but psychologically creepy. Watch the video below to find out why.

The video suggests the other side of how technology will affect us in the future. It might be exaggerated but I don’t think it’s impossible. Personally I don’t like the idea of replacing physical aesthetics with virtual ones – I still want my living room fully furnished.

And the use of a dating app? Seriously??? Real men do not depend on technology to impress a girl. Sure, you can use it to a certain point but DO NOT depend on it. Bro fist if you agree.

the video made augmenting creepy, because how it was presented. Anyway augments shouldnt be open to everyone, it just should be open to those who have disablities like missing limbs.

Same thing here…this reminds me if “Accel World” and I’m watching that anime right now. This will be more scary if this device was like the “NerveGear” device in the anime named “Sword Art Online” (which is another series made by the same author as Accel World) where death in VRMMORPG results a death in real life.

It may be a different view but it is somewhat like the movie of Bruce Willis’ Surrogates.

Anyway, after watching the clip, I don’t like the idea of being dependent on apps and making the reality all but just a game. Though it’s nice, learning how to cook reminds me of cooking master chef game. :)

It wasn’t creepy until the girl was somehow reset to a saving point, I guess?

Restarting a level by *throwing away* food? Aww, what a waste :(

I think this kind of future might draw people away from humanity even if it seems like these are meant to help people in some way by adding features to the human experience (hence the term “augment”), much like how social networks are trying to connect people but one side of reality is that it disconnects real-life relationships. Of course when things like these (social networks, augmented realities) are used properly, it helps. But sadly there are many who misuse and/or abuse them.

On the other hand, people in this kind of future might begin to see the more value on real-life experiences because of it. :)

I do love the gamification idea though. Makes doing boring things more fun.
