Twitter gets its own photo filters with new update

Listen to article

Twitter’s mobile app for Android and iOS gets an update which brings built-in filters for photos being uploaded to the microblogging platform.

The new update brings eight photo filters (Vignette, Black & White, Warm, Cool, Vintage, Cinematic, Happy, and Gritty) as well as basic photo editing like enhance and crop. The effects are powered by Aviary and are made exclusively for Twitter.

Here’s the list of what’s new in the update:

Create beautiful photos right within Twitter, with filters powered by Aviary.

– Apply one of eight different filters to instantly add a new look and feel to your photos
– Choose a filter by comparing all your options in a convenient grid view or by swiping through each version
– Make your photos pop with balanced light and colors by tapping the auto-enhance wand
– Crop and scale to frame the action the way you want

We’ve also added many other improvements and fixes to this update.

The update is probably a response to Instagram’s decision to make its photos unviewable within Twitter.

I don’t get why other people don’t use the official twitter app. Either use tweetcaster and alike.
