YouTube’s Android app might have a live watch count soon

YouTube’s latest server-side test was seen to have a live watch counter, according to a report by Android Police. While there are many sites that allow you to see live subscriber counters, this is the first time this feature has been spotted on YouTube’s test region. It is quite noticeable at first, as it replaces the area of the page where the amount of total views would usually be displayed.

There is no information whether or not this feature will totally replace the total view count, but nonetheless it looks pretty interesting to see how many people are watching a video the same time as you are. It can also potentially be a big help for creators so that they may get further insight as to how many viewers their videos have in the current time.
