During our trip to Taipei the other week, I was able to borrow one of Auss’ latest gaming laptop, the Asus G75VW, to bring to my hotel room and spend the night playing Diablo 3 with it.
The new gaming laptop sports the latest and most powerful Intel Ivy Bridge processor, plus a few more really nice additions.

Here’s the exact hardware configuration of the laptop we borrowed.
Asus G75VW specs:
17.3″ full HD 1080p 3D LED @ 1920×1080 pixels
Intel Core i7 3720QM 2.6GHz quad-core
Turbo Boost 3.6GHz (4 cores, 8 threads, 6MB cache)
NVidia GeForce GTX 670M 3GB VRAM
16GB DDR3 RAM
256GB SATA SSD
Bluray-DVD combo
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
GigaBit LAN
3-in-1 Card Reader
1 x VGA port, mini D-sub
4 x USB 3.0 ports
1 x RJ45 LAN port
1 x HDMI port
1 x SPIDIF speaker out
1 x mini Display Port
8-cell 5200mAh 74Whrs Li-Ion battery
Windows 7 64-bit

For storage purposes, there are several configurations you can choose from:
2.5″ SATA Dual HDD
1TB 5400rpm
750GB 5400rpm/7200rpm
500GB 5400rpm/7200rpm
750GB 7200rpm SSH
256GB SSD
RAID0/1 Support
The option for processor could also be an Intel Core i7 3610QM 2.3GHz while the LED display can be just HD, full HD and full HD 3D. When you get the 3D display, it also comes with 3D glasses.

The laptop is also a bit heavy at 4.5kg, the design is similar to the G55 series and he earlier G7x series. The G75VW is technically on the top of the food chain of Asus’ gaming line.
The two-tone, gray-and-black matte finish of the laptop makes that massive chassis a rather subdued look. The full qwerty keyboard also features an extra alpha-numeric keypad on the far right corner. The large, smooth trackpad is somewhat flushed to the left (making it at about the center of the qwerty keyboard).

Managed to get a screenshot of the Windows Experience Index and the numbers looked impressive (I rarely see rigs that get ratings above 7 across the board).

We’re not sure though if Asus will eventually bring this model to the Philippines and for how much. In any case, this is one sweet rig I’d want to bring home.

recently got my g75v. awesome laptop
