AMD Launches the ATI Radeon HD 4770

AMD announced last week their new mid-range graphics card, the ATI Radeon HD 4770 which supports DirectX 10.1 gaming and GDDR5 memory.

This is the very first graphics card to be manufactured using the 40nm process.

750 MHz GPU core speed
3200 MHz QDR memory speed
640 stream processors
40nm fabrication process
826 million transistors
PCI Express 2.0 x16 bus interface
512MB 128-bit GDDR5 memory
Microsoft DirectX 10.1 support

The ATI Radeon HD 4770 GPU can upscale video display to 2560×1600 on dual-link monitors which is almost twice the display resolution of 1080p displays.

The HD4770 will be priced at $99 (that’s just under Php5,000 in the Philippines) which is targeted to the budget-conscious crowd. The pricing is similar to the low-end HD 4830 but the HD 4770 was made from their new 40nm process compared to the older version at 55nm. With almost the same price point, the HD4770 beats the HD4830.
