We’ve seen a lot of P55 motherboards from Asus lately but this P7P55D-E Premium tops them all. What makes this motherboard different from the others in its series is the introduction of SATA 6 Gbps and USB 3.0.

It’s got dual Gigabit LAN, a 16MB Flash ROM and the USB 3.0 is powered by a NEC D720200F1 chip that supports 2 ports on the back I/O panel. This is the world’s first motherboard that supports the new USB 3.0 that allows data transfer rates up to 600MB/s (Note though that on October 27th, 2009 Gigabyte announced 7 new P55 chipsets motherboards that included onboard USB 3.0, SATA 6Gb/s and triple power to all USB ports but these were just announcements and not actual release.).
