Building a Gaming PC: The Photos

Photos or it never happened! So yeah, I have to provide proof that I really built this gaming rig from the ground up. Here are some of the photos and the screenshots of the system.

The photos here are not that clear but I was taking them while I was assembling the rig.

I was originally aiming for that 32GB Patriot SSD which was selling for around Php3.5k but most of the stores didn’t have it on stock. I ended up getting the 80GB SSD from Intel which was fortunate because after using it as boot drive for the OS, it will have enough space for page/disk cache.

I originally used the stock CPU fan of the AMD FX-6100 but later on replaced it with the Thermaltake Contac 21.

Here are some screen grabs of CPUZ and GPUZ as well as the Windows Experience Index.

The rig got a Windows Experience Index of 7.3 with the lowest sub-score attributed to the CPU and the SSD.

When setting up a rig, I realized that all of the major components of the system should have equal or almost similar level of performance. This will provide a more optimized system that will run faster and better. What use is a very fast processor and a large amount of RAM when you have a slow storage system?

Most people will focus their resources and budget on a great processor, graphics card and RAM, leaving very little to other components. The two most under-appreciated components are the motherboard and the disk drive. Putting additional focus on these two items by reducing the budget on the CPU and GPU can still have positive effect on the over-all performance of a PC.

Up next — the Benchmarks (stay tuned).

Nice rig sir. Anung socket nga pala yung board na nireview mo dati? Yung AK-47 inspired? AMD or Intel? nasan na nga pala yun? Just wondering kung yun sana yung binuo mo tapos naka transparent sidepanel para Badass looks. Hehe…
      Happy Gaming sir! ^_^
