Laptops for High School Kids under PHP 15K

Students nowadays need their own computers to do their school work like research, essays, and presentations. While desktop PCs can do the job, it’s more convenient to have a laptop instead so they can work virtually almost everywhere. So for today, I will be listing down entry-level laptops under PHP 15,000. They’re easy in the pockets but capable to do basic school work. Let’s begin!

ASUS E402WA-GA010T 40

Yugatech 728x90 Reno7 Series

The ASUS E402WA is the only AMD-powered laptop in this list. What’s nice about this device is that it comes with a 2-year international warranty from ASUS. Before purchasing this, make sure to ask its storage size as their product brochure didn’t state anything about it.

ASUS E402WA-GA010T specs:

  • 14-inch HD U-Slim display @1366 x 768px
  • AMD E2-6110 1.5GHz Quad-Core (2M Cache)
  • 2GB DDR3 RAM
  • up to 32GB EMMC storage
  • Windows 10
  • Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 4
  • ASUS SonicMaster
  • 2 Years International Warranty

Acer Aspire ES1-132-P2US 16

This laptop is arguably the best one in this list, but it does not run on the Windows operating system. This device carries the Endless OS which is a Linux-based system. If you are not nitpicky, you should get this one since it still functions the same when it comes to productivity.

Acer Aspire ES1-132-P2US specs:

  • 11.6-inch HD display @1366 x 768px
  • Intel Pentium N4200 1.10GHz processor (up to 2.5GHz)
  • 2GB DD3 RAM
  • 500GB HDD
  • Endless OS
  • Wi-Fi 802.11ac
  • 2 Years Warranty

Price: PHP 13,999

Lenovo Ideapad S130-11IGM 33

The next best laptop on this list is the Lenovo Ideapad S130-11IGM. Not only that it has fast wireless connectivity, but it also has a DDR4 RAM which gives higher clock speeds than the DDR3 ones.

Lenovo Ideapad S130-11IGM specs:

  • 11-inch HD display @1366x768px
  • Intel Celeron N4000 processor (up to 2.60GHz)

ASUS VivoBook E12 E203NAH-FD010T 22

If you prefer an ASUS laptop with an Intel processor, then you can go for the VivoBook E12. It has an Intel Celeron N3350 processor which is enough to run Microsoft Office apps while browsing through your social media feeds.

ASUS VivoBook E12 E203NAH-FD010T specs:

  • 11.6-inch HD display @1366x768px
  • Intel Celeron N3350 Dual-Core processor

Asus X451MAV-VX108D 30

If an 11-inch ASUS laptop with an Intel processor is not enough, you can try the X451MAV. It has a 14-inch screen but with a less powerful processor. Its operating is also unknown based on the product listing that we found so be sure to check if it has an OS or not.

ASUS X451MAV-VX108D specs:

  • 14-inch HD display @1366x768px
  • Intel Celeron N2830 2.16GHz Dual-Core processor
  • 2GB DDR3 RAM
  • 500GB HDD
  • No specified OS

Acer Aspire 3 A311-31 33

The Acer Aspire 3 is also a good choice for any student’s productivity. Its specs are pretty much similar to the Lenovo Ideapad S130, so it’s up to you on which brand you want to choose.

Acer Aspire 3 A311-31 specs:

  • 11.6-inch display @1366 x 768
  • Intel Celeron N4000 processor (up to 2.60GHz)
  • 2GB DDR4 RAM

The recommendations with Endless OS and having no OS are just bad picks. You may have saved some money, but then you’ll be out of time trying to figure out the tech support for this and you might even spend more instead when it turns out your accessories are incompatible with your computer.
IMO buyers should consider either Windows 10 laptop, or Chromebook if it’s available in the market and you can rely on internet all the time.

Personally I would ask first if ANY of these have upgradeable or replaceable RAM. 2 GB is not enough even browsers eat up majority of it.
