HP Spectre Ultrabook gets a Gorilla Glass body

With the number of ultrabooks being annonced in CES 2012 this week, one model seemed to get a lot of attention — an almost glass-clad HP Spectre.

It’s not entirely made up of glass but a lot of the body parts are covered in what could be scratch-resistant Gorila Glass — lid, screen, palmrest, etc.

This 14-inch ultrabook, which HP says will sell for around $1,399, will pack some mean specs — an Intel Core i5 (Core i5-2467M) or i7 processor, 4GB of RAM (max of 8GB), 256GB SSD storage and even NFC. The HP Spectre also comes with Beats Audio. Photoshop and Premiere Elements are also pre-installed with full license.

Expect the Spectre to be released in the US by February 8 with a suggested retail price of $1,399.99.

Love that wallpaper!!, never really liked that brand HP… For me that brand is very unreliable

  2. U.Tinio says:

Nice Ultrabook but HP Customer Service sucks big time! Think twice.

  3. coachjojoc says:

Both Tomas and U.Tinio are absolutely correct with their assessment: HP sucks.

But for the worst service center in the Philippines, my vote goes to the Asus Service Center Megamall. Not only are they arrogant and totally ignorant of their products, ang yayabang pa.

And I’m not the only one. My bro in law (who owns an Nx90jq) was so pissed he swore off buying any future Asus product.

I already emailed Asus Taiwan and am waiting for their response.

Nice looking laptop, but then again if the customer service sucks then you’re better off getting other laptop brands instead.

Q: what’s the worst ever customer/service center in the country? How ’bout this for a next post Sir Yuga. :D

    2012 is very exciting, indeed!

I’d still go for a Thinkpad over this one. I don’t know much about customer service coz my Thinkpad hasn’t given me problems for the past 3+ years. :)

Based on my personal experience, Thinkpad service is quite good. Bought a used Thinkpad and when it had problems w/ its USB ports, all I had to do was take it to the IBM service center in Libis and they fixed the unit, at no cost. Motherboard and some other minor parts were replaced. That’s why I’ve been sticking to Thinkpads. (BTW, my experience was a couple of years back, the thinkpad is still alive, hopefully they’ve been able to maintain the service).

HP service, my experience also was good. But their service center was more difficult to find. It was several years back, so not sure if they (HP service) really suck now.
