Asus shows off at 2012 Pinoy Gaming Festival

Asus recently supported the Filipino gamers and case modders last October 29-31 at the SMX Convention Center during the Pinoy Gaming Festival. The PGF 2012 was one of the biggest gaming conventions held for the game enthusiasts. Gamers had the chance to represent our country to compete in international competitions.

Asus also hosted a Show Off What You Cool Off Watercooling Competition, an international competition for the best designed water-cooled rigs. They featured the latest ROG motherboards and put them to the test with the top overclockers such as Mike ‘DJsub’ Patelo and Paul Tan. Through this, they showcased the overclocking capabilites of the new ROG motherboards.

For hardcore gamers, Asus also presented the Maximus V Formula. The motherboard features a Fusion Thermo innovation. This means the system can switch from air cooling to active water cooling to combat heat. Also featured was the SupremeFX IV that utilizes audio capacitors, a 300ohm headphone amplifier and exclusive Red Line Shielding to isolate analog and digital signals from interference to deliver up to 110dB SNR in-game audio. The Maximus V Extreme, on the other hand, is designed for extreme overclockers. It features OC Key, Subzero Sense and VGA Hotwire.

Asus also showcased the GeForce? GTX 680 DirectCU II TOP graphics card. The graphics card is overclocked by 1201MHz to boost frame rates in games. The card’s overclocking and overvolting capabilities can also be easily accessed through hardware-level VGA Hotwire and the software-level GPU Tweak utility.

There you have it. If you’re a gamer or a modder, you shouldn’t have missed the gaming event of the year especially with all the things Asus had to offer.
