J5 Create Ultra Station JUD500 laptop docking station

I’m not very keen with docking stations and every time I see them, I’d think they’re just for ThinkPads and those corporate laptops. This docking station by J5 Create is far from that though.

The J5 Ultra Station is pretty simple — you rest the base of your laptop on one end, plug the device to your laptop via the USB port and power up the docking station.

On one side of the docking station is an array of ports you can now use — a VGA port, an HDMI port (with resolution of up to 2048×1152 pixels), a USB 3.0 host, USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, a LAN port, microphone and speaker jack.

The docking station can be really useful if you own an ultrabook and don’t have all the needed ports. It basically allows you to just permanently connect an external HDMI monitor, an external HDD storage and a wired LAN to the dock and then just connect the laptop to it whenever you get home or at the office.

On top of that, you also have the same Wormhole function (read our previous story here) so you can connect to another laptop (Windows or Mac) and share screen and files effortlessly.

Here’s a quick video from J5 Create on how the Ultra Station works:

What really makes this docking station very unique is the Wormhole technology that allows you to connect two platforms (Windows and OS X).

Suggested retail price is Php7,450.
