Acer Iconia W3: 8-inch Windows 8 tablet launched

Yesterday, Acer formally launched new products in time for the opening of Computex. The show-stopper of the lot is the Acer Iconia W3, an 8-inch Windows 8 tablet.

While the typical orientation is in landscape mode, the physical Windows 8 button is paced on the right side.

8.1-inch LCD @ 1280×800 pixels
Intel Atom Z2760 1.8GHz dual-core processor
2GB DDR2 RAM
32GB and 64GB internal storage
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
2MP rear camera
2MP front-facing camera
micro-HDMI port
micro-USB 2.0 port
Bluetooth 4.0
Windows 8

The device also comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office.

Acer is expected to sell the 32GB version for $427 and $492 for the 64GB model. There’s an optional keyboard dock which can be bought for about $90.

    With Windows 8 OS eating the hard drive, how much do you think will be left for your files?

      online tech sites say approx 30GB will be useable for the 64GB variant. Not sure abot the 32GB though. Maybe 20GB?
