One of the newer configurations of the Acer Aspire S3 is this fairly affordable ultrabook being priced at Php39,990 — the first one to break the Php40k price barrier.
The Aspire S3 was challenged by Samsung’s Series 5 ultrabook in the Php40k+ price range so this move might have been done to further separate itself from the pack.

Suggested retail price is Php39,900 and comes with a free external DVD-Writer. Had Acer introduced this earlier (as in last year), they would have made a bigger splash in this hotly contested ultrabook category wchih a lot of people look up to as a very expensive breed of laptops.
