That’s my concern too, can we install Ubuntu in this netbook?

I’ve been eyeing another AsusEE netbook, in the internet it was 12k but when I went to the mall it was still 16k-19k so pass muna hehe.

Maybe this one at around 11k can do the job for me. =)

You can definitely install Ubuntu or Windows in this netbook! You just have to have the proper knowledge and the tools to install them. For instance, a USB thumb drive will do for Ubuntu.

It sells as posted at an ASUS store here in Davao.

This will really go as a basic computing device, and the price is as attractive as is intriguing.

Sabi doon sa review iyong user na gumawa ng review, he got only 2 and a half hours from a full charge with just web browsing and document typing. Kasi daw iyong battery niya is 3 cell with a 2600mAh rating. Ibig sabihin low powered netbook ito. Iyoooon.

cheaper than a tablet, install ubuntu and you’re all set to go

Maybe this has something to do with recent news stating that Intel is “temporarily halting” Meego.

In any case, I dunno. 2 usb ports and 250gb means this is only good for on-the-go stuff where you can’t bring a laptop with decent power. I wouldn’t even use it to surf the net. Just, I dunno…type stuff.

may VGA port po ba to, para maconnect sa external display o projector? sayang kasi kung wala.

ang main selling point nito siguro eh yung thinness niya, kasi sa 11k may mga netbook from last year na mas ok sa specs, plus windows certified pa.

Yes it has a VGA Port and you can install windows OS as well. :)

Sabi doon sa review, “The lack of VGA and LAN port brought its girth down to 17.6 m”. So, wala siyang VGA port.

@EdwinC,

medyo misleading ang quote mo. dapat kasali yung previous sentence: “If you want a more slimmer profile, the X101 is for you. The lack of VGA and LAN port brought its girth down to 17.6mm.”

ibig sabihin, dalawang versions ang meron, yung X101H mas makapal, yun ang may VGA at LAN ports. kung gusto mo ng mas manipis, merong X101 na version na walang VGA at LAN ports.

F#<K!! Hindi pala available yung white na model nito sa Pilipinas according to the PTBlog. I think you should update your blog entry.

Sabi doon sa review, “Black is the only option”. Dito iyan sa bayan kong Pilinas sabi ni ASUS. Magbasa naman kayo ng review.

I really like this netbook.. But the Atom processor just bogs down everything I do. Yesterday, I tried to operate a netbook with the same specs as this one. It was damn slow.. Type ko ‘tong X101H pero usability and power is far from optimal. I’ll just stick with my HP dm1z.. Or I could just buy this as a novelty item. Ang nipis eh. Mura pa.
