The Asus Transformer Book Trio is the most interesting product that Asus has unveiled today — a Transformer ultrabook that runs both Android OS and Windows 8, powered by an Intel Core i7 (Haswell) and Intel Atom Z2580 2.0GHz.
Asus Transformer Book Trio specs:
11.6-inch IPS LCD full HD display @ 1920×1080 pixels, 218ppi
Intel Core i7 4000U quad-core processor (ultrabook)
Intel Atom Z2580 2.0GHz dual-core (tablet)
2GB RAM (tablet) + 4GB DDDR3 RAM (ultrabook)
750GB/1TB HDD (ultrabook) + 64GB eMMC (tablet)
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
USB 3.0 ports
HDMI port
SD card reader
Android 4.2 Jellyebean
Windows 8
The idea is that the tablet can operate on its own and run Jellybean with an Intel Atom Z2580 2.0GHz. Once you dock the tablet into the keyboard dock, the Windows 8 operating system kicks in. The keyboard dock houses the Intel Core i7 4000U.
Then, you can actually use the keyboard dock and plug it to an external monitor via HDMI and operate it like a desktop. That’s their idea of a tablet, notebook and desktop in just one device.
Remember the Asus Transformer All-In-One which runs on both Windows 8 and Android Jellybean? It uses the same principle.
wait na lang ng may magandang video card para makapaglaro din ng pc games :D
This is a dream! I hope the price is not a nightmare.
Though I really found this solution brilliant (oh, and I’m and ASUS Fanboy), I’m quite worried on what will happen if this dock connector breaks or conked out. As said in this post, the keyboard dock houses the Intel Core i7 CPU. That means when the dock breaks, you’re all left with the Intel Atom processor.
the keyboard dock has the cpu for windows 8
while the tablet packs the cpu for android.
you cant use the tablet for windows 8 unless connected s keyboard.
but anyway nice concept…
I hope then can make VMWare player run on Android tablets..
North of $1000 ang presyo neto malamang
Pang mayaman lang hehehehe
I guess this product will have a price higher than 50k. maybe we should consider that having two OS and three functions at the same time cost high too. around 60k i guess.
the question is.. when will it be available in the market and how much?
This is SUPER!! For me, this is a very nice idea. Maybe, someday there will be a fully integrated Windows/Android OS for this kind of device or any other gadget. Just my opinion though. :D
Di kaya mag-away ang dalawang OS na yan? :)
you can switch the two OSes easily.
pag may nakagawa ng android/windows phone OS/iOS powered phone/tablet, uulan ng pera sa kanila
Wow. This is a good thing for those who are having troubles of choosing between the android and the win 8 os.
In my opinion, if you compare them android doesnt really have the edge when it comes to notebook operating system but win 8 doesnt really work that well when it comes to tablets.
Asus’ solution : Why not combine them both!
Brilliant. Absolutely nice engineering. I’m looking forward to this. I expect the price to be around or above 50k php though. Nevertheless very good device.
I want to see the full specs though GPU, SoC, RAM.
and the price? …
So the tablet is a tablet/mini monitor.
astig ^_^ hope mayaman ako hehehehe ^_^
