Asus’ version of the Microsoft Surface is now available in stores and selling for Php25,999. This 10-inch tablet is powered by an Intel Atom processor and Windows 8.
From the form factor perspective and the use of the smart keyboard, the VivoTab Smart looks like they’re in the same league but the Surface RT runs on Windows RT while the VivoTab Smart is on the regular Windows 8 OS.
Asus VivoTab Smart specs:

In any case, it looks like Asus is positioning the VivoTab Smart as the new netbook-tablet hybrid. With a suggested retail price of Php25,999, that combo sure does look very appealing.
Ako ay bibili.
available po ba ito sa gilmore?hindi nabanggit kung wifi ready sya?at user friendly
Where can i buy or order an asus vivo tab smart running in windows 8 here in the Philippines? Because the one in sulit.com is windows rt!
try trinoma.. or pc_corner sa tipidpc.
anyway, we are giving away a bn nokia 206! just click my name.
You can go to Villman to check the VivoTab Smart I saw many stocks in North EDSA and SM Megamall, Mall of ASIA
wow this is the cheapest windows 8 tablet na nakita ko. I saw one in Villman this afternoon, although di naka-open yung package pwede daw gamitan ng USB OTG cable.
Does the 26k price include the keyboard dock and does the keyboard dock include any batteries? I’ve been eying this model for a while now so that I can avoid the Acer W510…
Hindi kasama… bluetooth keyboard yun. Walang battery
Thanks @ Jason! Well, Clovertrail Atom naman so hindi na kailangan ng extra batt din.
Looking for performance reference? Try amd E-350 halos same lang yan except sa gpu. Bulok gpu ng clovertrail atom. But it can run DOTA and CS 1.3 Lol!
Anyway, this is just a secondary pc. Ang pinaka ok dito is yung microsoft office. Meaning what you get from your desktop is the same with your tablet. Bunos nalang ang pagiging x86 nya na makakalaro ka ng dota. Hehehe
Btw, you can install ubuntu linux if you want.
Ang pangit lang dito, kailangan no ng usb hub na may power supply para makapagcharge at connect ng usb devices at the same time.
So if you are looking for full office experience, pc browsing, and a little bit casual gaming from the microsoft store, ok na ok na to.
Score: 8.5/10
Must buy for the one who are looking for portable second computer.
Wait, no USB port? Sad!(aside from the Micro USB port)
Atom processor? joking or serious? Thats horrible the price is far too high for terrible netbook specs
An atom processor that allows the ~9hour battery life is MUCH better than an ARM one thanks to its x86-64 compatibility. The GPU aspect is the one that worries me.
@Sir Yuga, could you please compare the performance of this Asus Vivo Tab to the Acer Iconia W510, in terms of responsiveness?
I’ve tried the Asus Vivo Book w/ windows 8 running on 3rd gen i3 processors and there is slight delay start-up times for launching apps. With this unit powered only by an Atom processor, I wonder how it would perform.
The biggest issue to plague the Windows surface pro 64GB is the memory with only 20GB fresh from the factory. The same question comes to mind with Asus’ iteration.
Hey sir Yuga, will you be able to do a review of this? :)
ASUS SonicMaster Audo
– So it comes with the Subwoofer attachment? Cool.
Does it come with the transleeve cover and a bluetooth keyboard?
Any insights about the GPU?
