Aside from Gateway, Acer also owns the eMachines brand for low-end market and they’ve re-packaged the Acer Aspire One D250 into the eMachines Acer EMD250 NetBook.

The netbook specs are somewhat standard and does not offer anything new or interesting. Perhaps Acer decided to re-paint the D250 with another of its brand just to have an offering for that line (same thing they always do with their Gateway brand).

i was canvassing for a netbook and saw the emach 250 sells at p14k at virra mall. the price is very attractive!

not to mention, an emachine design is targeted to a more mature and professional crowd. this looks better than those brightly colored and plasti-ky designed acers.

this costs 16k in cebu without OS, but hey, it’s the cheapest out there for a known brand.

I saw this at asianic SM San Lazo, it cost 15K without OS and its 6 cell battery. The sales lady claimed that it is only compatible with Windows 7 because WinXp does not have the drivers for it.

i have had emachines laptops and desktops in the past. they’re pretty cheap but in terms of reliability, they have served me well. my emachines laptop is still around after 5 years of use. it has outlived the average laptop’s lifespan of 3 years!
