First Peek: Asus Tablet 600 with Windows RT

We’re now live at the Asus event here in Taipei Taiwan for their unveiling of the new line of tablets. Whie the program is about to start, we spotted one of the Windows 8 tablet they refer to as the Asus Tablet 600.

This netbook-cum-tablet is almost the same as the Asus Transformer Prime.

Asus Tablet 600 (Windows RT):

10.1″ Super IPS+ display @ 1366×768 pixels
NVidia Tegra 3 Quad-Core processor
2GB RAM
32GB eMMC
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
8MP rear camera with LED flash
NFC
GPS
Windows RT

No mention about the battery life but we assume the tablet detaches from the keyboard runs on its own battery while the dock add additional juice when attached to the tablet.

Aside from the Asus Tablet 600, they also have a bigger version at 11.6-inch which looks more like a Zenbook — the Asus Tablet 810 runs on Windows 8 and is powered by the latest Intel Atom processor.

Now windows will have a share in the tablet market. Let’s just wait for consumer response!

Know the difference of Windows RT and Window 8.

Windows RT is the new OS of Microsoft, specifically made for tablets. Kinda same for android and iOS. It can’t run any current programs for Windows XP, Vista, or 7, or even for Windows 8. Only Metroapps (aka the programs made especially for this OS) can be run.

Windows 8 is the new OS of Microsoft, which is an update from Windows 7.

Both Windows RT and Windows 8 use the new metro style (tile design), hence the high probability of regular consumers getting confused.

ang lamang lang ng windows RT is yung microsoft office. =)

Hmmm… Windows joining the tablet wars. Hopefully, it is compatible throughout all windows-enabled devices (similar to apple).

This one could replace my desktop and laptop machine.

I was excited but the resolution is atrocious ?! 3G/4G support ?!??! For god’s sake ASUS. You could’ve made the display at 1920×1080 and put cellular support !!
