Huawei’s very own 7-inch dual-core Honeycomb tablet, the Huawei MediaPad, was shown to members of the press earlier today. We missed the event since we’re still in transit from SG but was able to squeeze out some details like release date and retail price.
We’ve had some hands-on time with the Huawei MediaPad way back in June at CommunicAsia and it was a huge news that time since they were the first one to introduce a Honeycomb 3.2 tablet at a really affordable price (it’s pegged at $499 elsewhere).

According to our source, the MediaPad will be finally released in the Philippines before end of November with a suggested retail price of around Php20k. We’re certainly hoping it will be under the Php20k mark. With an HSPA+ modem, it will surely be the most affordable 3G-capable, dual-core Honeycomb tablet in the Philippines.
i read that someone was asking if this has wifi.. simpleng google lang yan guys.. and nowadays we sometimes we dont need to ask if it has wifi because baseline features na ng mga devices yan lalo na kung communication device ito hehehe…
sana nga below 20 to… will finally own a tabled if ganun nga price nya
sayang walang wifi. :-( pero it doesnt take away the fact that it is still a cool gadget on itself.
May wifi. Please read again. :)
can the mediapad make and recieve call? and send and recieve sms, mms?
o nga, curious din ako. anyone?
Calling with Honeycomb devices will not be possible until Google does not allow so, unfortunately.
I have been waiting for this device! Android Tab on a smaller form factor with IPS screen and that superb pixel density. :D 10-inch tab isn’t really for me.
I hope it will upgraded to ICS too.
Updated to include WiFi.
i own one, and i like it.. magaan, mabilis at presentable sya. wifi ready and running on android 4.0.1 hindi gaya nun kagaya ng ibang nababasa na andoid 3.2.. maganda sya gamitn, the camcorder it good ksi you can zoom it, even the sound maganda, sa video maganda, mabilis.. battery lang talaga ksi if your playing temple run, mabiis, pero if browsing lang, video, music tumatagal din.. i even have a case especially design for it.
yes, pwede sya lagyan ng simcard, apng text, call.. pre loaded pa ng YOZO office with excel and word, i think meron din syang powerpoint..
Amazon Kindle Fire price of 199USD is a winner as compared to this China brand
kindle fire is not comparable to any android tablet… because they limit it as an ebook reader… unless u want to mod it…. IMHO
may wifi yan, of cors! wala lang sa spec list. anung sense ng tablet kung walang wifi? mawala na 3g, but wifi. haha, use ur coconut.
dudes.. it has WIFI. please do some little research since you’re on the internet. =|
wow! ang ganda nman nyan… sana ICS n din sya. pero lahat nman cguro ng tablet eh wifi capable, kya mlamang eh merun din yan.
what? walang wifi??!
sayang not wifi able
this device is also same with acer iconia tab A101… kung nauna lang ito (and also if pumasa sa test) sana ito ung nakuha namin….
same here. Hope it would be upgradeable to 4.0 ICS aside from being priced cheaper compared to the available tablets
waiting for this one..c”,
