Lenovo ThinkPad Helix hybrid Win8 ultrabook and tablet

The name Helix probably comes from the idea that you can detach the LED display from the keyboard dock, twist it around 180 degrees and plug it back again to set a tablet form.

The form factor obviously comes from the “transformer” idea but extends that so you’re able to use it both as a separate tablet or with an extended battery dock.

The ThinkPad Helix comes with NFC (first time we’ve heard in an ultrabook) and optional LTE connectivity.

Lenovo ThinkPad Helix specs:
Intel Core i3, i5, i7 processor
8GB RAM
256GB SSD storage
Intel HD 4000 graphics
WiFi 802.11n
Bluetooth 4.0
USB 2.0
USB 3.0
SD card
HDMI port
720p webcam
Windows 8

The ThinkPad Helix will retail for about $1,499 when it comes out in stores.
