Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 to launch on October 26

Microsoft’s Windows 8 will be released next month and tablet manufacturers are prepping up their products to take advantage of this release. One of them is Lenovo and their ThinkPad Tablet 2.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 is a business-centric 10.1-incher that runs a full Windows 8 Pro and Office 2013 suite. Powering the device is Intel’s next-gen Atom chip rumored to be clocked at 1.8GHz. The tablet also sports a 1,366×768 IPS display, Ethernet port, three USB ports, HDMI out, 8 megapixel camera, 2 megapixel front, NFC, an alleged 10 hour battery life and a docking keyboard.

Lenovo has confirmed that the ThinkPad Tablet 2 will launch on October 26, the same day Microsoft debuts Windows 8, with a price tag of $799.

Yeah that’s a PC in tablet form. Dont compare with any other Android or IOS tablet.

What bothers me with this tablet is it is using an Atom processor.

I am curious on how this new Atom processor fares to those that are using the I series processors.Particularly if you run desktop software on this machine.

It is a tablet but it cannot be compared to an ipad because it does what a regular PC does. Can an ipad tablet run what a mac computer run?

Before people start posting how expensive it is. Please remember that this machine is a computer, not a tablet.
