My PC wants to be a Mac!

Just couldn’t resist the urge to be just a plain old PC clone. My desktop also wants to be a Mac clone.

Cloning was done with the aid of ObjectDock and some wallpaper from WebMotiva.

You may want to post a list of reasons why one should switch to a Mac. Or why you’d like to switch/have a Mac… Also, how much opensource Mac applications are available now that are worth using? You may convince others too… specially me. ;-)

I’d like to add this link: Turn your PC into a Mac .

    Why I like Mac?

    1) They’re just damn gorgeus, elegant and beautiful. Couln’t get enough adjectives to describe them.

    2) NO more BSOD.

    3) No need to worry about virus and worms and all.

    4) They last longer.

On the psychology part, working in front of a computer for 14-18 hours a day will not be as bad to the eyes and in the lower back if one is using a Mac. It might become enjoyable again. :D

Imac mini is sold for 35+k! Maybe even less…

  9. yuga says:

It’s about 38k++ actually. But it still doesn’t include your mouse, keyboard and monitor (the most expensive part).

i’ve tried ObjectDock before and it’s really nice..maybe i should install it on my machine again..anyways, there are lots of icons you can get from DeviantArt.com..the icons that come with the package aren’t that nice..hehe :D

I got an idea for the iMac. Since we have a PC at home (if ever we will able to acquire an iMac) and we want to use the iMac, we got this tiring job of changing CPUs :)

About a couple of years ago, I was able to make mine look like a Mac with the help of Windowsblinds using an OSX theme and AquaDock – which feels and looks like the app in OSX and the icons are “Mac” :D

Oh, I have been going crazy about this skinning stuff. I made my Windows look like Mac (but I reverted since I needed the resources) and I made our Linux look like Windows :-o

I’ve seen a virtual ipod for pocketPc’s called pPod, but Apple did pressure Starbrite Solutions(pPod App owner) to stop its distribution of the so-called virtual iPod.

  14. yuga says:

I used to have WindowsBlinds installed on my system 3 years ago but because it was such a resource hog, I removed it. During that time, skinning and themes wasn’t any good either. T’was a nice way to experience a MAc though. :)

retz: you have a link for pPod? I’d liek to try it with my iPod Photo.
