Poll: Which audio speakers do you use?

I bought my current audio speakers in 2002 and haven’t really replaced it. Was wondering if this is one of those gadgets that are rarely replaced. I thought we should do a poll about it.

There are portable speakers, PC speakers, and the sound system in the living room. Among those you’re currently using, which audio speakers do you most often use?

  • Altec Lansing
  • Creative
  • Logitech
  • Bose
  • Samsung
  • LG
  • Sony
  • JBL
  • JVC
  • Bang & Olufsen
  • Onkyo
  • Ozaki
  • X-Mini
  • Edifier
  • Klipsch
  • Harman Kardon
  • Nextbase
  • Konzert

Actually, there’s too many I can’t name them all. While, I have the poll on the sidebar for you to submit your choices, you can share on the comments which on you regularly use.

Used Edifier X600 then it was swallowed by Ondoy. Currently, I am using Logitech Z-103. I can say that I am satisfied and impressed about its downfire bass. It rocks

  2. Altec Lansing for me, about 3 years old. Once ants lived on one of my speakers hehe. But they are gone now. I have the sub woofer and two stand alones. Hmmm, 2500 pesos.

    1. Creative speakers have the best value for money, i use them with my pc at home and office, they have a very decent sound coz they are manufactured by hi-fi speaker manufacturer Cambridge Soundworks.

    2. I am using yamaha speakers for my 5.1 home theater system. They sound excellent, and they are a lot cheaper than bose or jbl. Also, yamaha is one of the pioneer in home theater system.

    3. But if money is not a question, i’ll chose bose products.

i’m using Creative Inspire T5900 5.1 (for more than 3 years) i think i’m going to replace it soon with either Creative Gigaworks T3 or Creative Gigaworks G500/G550W soon. I also have a Creative Gigaworks T20 Series II which i hooked on my LCDTV (since i don’t have bigger space for bigger speakers) it looks small but it’s loud! and IMHO no matter how beautiful and expensive your speakers are they will not be 100% utilized if there’s no good sound card. just my 2 cents.

Creative. But I’ll get Altec next.

    To Calvin, about Onkyo…

Really? All along I thought of Onkyo as high performance and high quality audio brand, same tier as Bang & Olufsen but just less popular. They sure cost really expensive too.

The Sony Giga Panel MEX-1GP is a automobile audio receiver that features a removable faceplate like most of the other receivers on the market today. However this faceplate also comes with a USB port and a 1GB flash memory drive that allows you store up to 500 MP3 song files. You basically use the USB cable that comes with the receiver to connect it to your PC and transfer the MP3 files like you would with your IPOD or MP3 player.

    @maverick: we are on a same road…

my sound set-up only for my desktop computer is 500watts sakura 220v amplifier, bose crossover and v12 10″ 4ohm single voice coil speaker enclosed in an L box type baffle and 2 for my mids and highs I have 2 10″ crown instrumental speakers and 4.5 inch crown 3 way speaker = a very great sound :D

the v12 square sub is originally for car audio system, i want a very low bass so that’s why i bought it and even our neighbors ceiling and roof is shaking and rattling LOL! :D

and the best genre that i always play is hiphop and electro trance

i have suggestion try to play the “report to the dancefloor by Dj Sndrz & Chuckie” the pump beats mids and high are smooth and sharp…

  14. What extras are you applying on your internet site? I have just changed over from a WordPress so I am just getting a hang of matters here.

I used to have a JBL Sonnet 2.1 speakers. I got it back in 2004, IIRC, for around Php3500. It was a curvaceous thing. Sexy, and sounded so sweet. It was the best PC speakers I have ever had, and until now, I’m still trying to look for a 2.1 speaker system that could approximate its sound.
The best thing about the Sonnet was that it sounded the same whether the volume was turned way down or at full volume. I never had to use an equalizer or fiddle with the adjustments in music players. Zero distortion at any volume. Frequency response in midrange and high ranges were terrific. The bass was just enough. Not as loud as altecs basswise, but just enough to feel the bass with no distortion at any volume. And the package was tiny, before x-minis became popular, the Sonnet was as cute as could be.
The only reason I had to let it go was when the rubber lining on the metal speaker cones crumbled due to age, and the sweet sound I used to hear was fading away into memories of glory. Eventually I gave it away, as I could no longer stand watching it slowly die. Now I’m getting by with a Yamaha RX-V540 with Mordaunt-Short fronts. Overkill, but then again the Sonnets were on par with hi-fi receivers.

Until now, I have not found any other speaker system that can match the JBL Sonnet, size, price and surprise wise. I miss it already.
