Spotted: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Tab 2 10.1

Announced back in February, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 was aimed to offer a more affordable tablet, both in 7.0 inch and 10.1 inch. We spotted these two last night in a retail store in Cash & Carry.

The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 was meant to replace the original tab but the specs can really be confused between the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and the Galaxy Tab 7.7.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3100 specs:
7-inch PLS LCD display @ 1024×600 pixels
1GHz dual-core processor
8GB, 16GB and 32GB internal storage
HSPA+ 21Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 3.0
GPS w/ aGPS support
Li-Ion 4,000mAh battery
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

The price we saw was a 12-month installment of Php1,600 at zero interest for the 16GB variant (total of Php19,200). The unit being sold is in white.

The Galaxy Tab 2 10.0 was also sold for Php2,070 per month for 12 months (0% interest) or a about Php24,840.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 specs:
10.1″ PLS TFT display @ 1280×800 WXGA screen
1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core processor
16GB and 32GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 3.0 HS
FM radio
HSPA+ 21Mbps

3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash
720p video recording
1080p video playback
VGA front-facing camera
Li-Ion 7,000mAh battery
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

We have not heard from Samsung Phils. when these will be officially launched in the Philippines. Either this is just a ninja release or we’ll hear something from Samsung in a week or two.

  1. Mas mahal pa siya sa galaxy 7.0. Considering na wifi lang siya? No thanks, ok pa rin original ko na galaxy tab.

    • Hi wreek888, actually mas affordable siya. I happened to check the galaxy 2 7.0 na wifi version in a mall here in muntinlupa city and its retailing between 12,000 and 13,000. Malaki lang talaga ang price discrepancy. The wifi+3G version n is retailing at 15,000+ while the 10.1 tab is retailing at 20,000+. Ang odd ng feeling kasi the 7.0 plus tab is retailing here at 19,000, while the 7.7 tab is retailing at 23,500. There is something with these tablets na kakaiba, lower ang price pero upon reading the specs, napakacompetitive parin.

  2. Andaming nilalabas na tablets ng Samsung!

Before mo ma-enjoy gadget mo, laos na. Meh.

I’m thinking of getting either a Motorola Xoom or iPad 3.

  3. I saw the review at and I noticed that the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 actually did worse than the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. And the Plus has LED flash while the Tab 2 doesn’t.

I’ve seen a couple of online sellers pushing the 7.0 Plus at P17.5K so the price should probably be lower than that or there would be no takers.

  4. Not bad for 1,600 monthly. This galaxy tab P3100 costs 15,990 at cmk, in cold cash. Interest agad na 3,210 for one year installment.

  5. Wait they’ll release this? This is competition for Nexus right? which is at $200??

ISnt the pricing a bit high compared to competition

  6. The specs of these tablets are dismal, with the crappy display and a dual-core processor. Are you kidding us, Samsung?

  7. got mine at memoexpress megamall — P13,190.. galaxy tab 2 7.0 wifi only.. okay na sana kaso yung video calling not supported pa sa skype and ym app..

  9. Samsung is really clever on it’s product line-up. The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus P6200 is near phase by now, but it has the same features with P3100. P6200’s price now is depreciating, but when it’s features are to be reincarnated on P3100, then price was again refreshed. Samsung is really good in product marketing.

  10. people are still riding the “high spec is better” hype…

guys we should learn that those apps (in the market) works fine and fluid even in single core processor.

i think the real driver in down pricing those tabs is due to litigations of Samsung on other countries…
