It’s hard to deny this year is really the year of the tablet. Everybody’s got one — even LCD monitor manufacturer ViewSonic has one too they called the ViewPad 7.
Running the latest Android Froyo OS, the ViewSonic ViewPad 7 is a 7-inch tablet running a clocked-down Qualcomm processor.

Viewsonic ViewPad 7
7-inch capacitive display @ 800×480 pixels
600MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
Android 2.2. Froyo

3G sim card slot

Expected retail price is around $550 but I doubt it would even reach our shores. With the Samsung Galaxy Tab expected to be selling between $800 to $1,000 (Samsung execs say it will be priced higher than the Php32k Galaxy S), at least we have some options.

i think these tablets are glorified electronic picture frames hehehe….with internet / gaming capabilites
expecting more tablets to come!
i think it is the future of of all computers, that’s my prediction, 10-20 years from now or even less, remember the movie Minority Report? mukhang malapit na nga yun e or meron na ba?
@abeolandres sir if possible, please feature Thinkpads that you can recommend.
@abeolandres cool!!! thanks im a follower of your blogs. more power sir !!!
let’s wait maybe cdrking will release it’s own tablet… : )
@roan carl
i see it the other way around. tablets can do a lot, though i think i would never own one.
you must be seeing smartphones as glorified calculators that can make phone calls and have internet and gaming capabilities.
i used to think tablets are unnecessary. I was wrong. Very wrong. I use my chinese android tablet now more than my smartphone.
Mobile phone screens are just too small to be useful for surfing the internet, reading the internet, and other stuffs.
I really think we will be seeing Filipinos talking through the webcam with friends, chatting, texting, calling friends through a 7 inch tablet computer.
I have a feeling mobile phones will turn obsolete
with mobility in mind, I don’t think mobile phone will ever be obsolete.. may the difference of smartphone and tablets will be just thiner in time.. but both can co-exist in the market.. for me, 4 inch smartphones are better deals than tablet.
It can be useful both m0bileph0nes and tablet pc.It depend on where place or situati0n you will use those device, for me having those two gadgets are useful
mukang over size iphone 4…hahahahaa
pass on this. Ill never sacrifice the quality para lng sa mura..
Mahal pala ng estimated price ng Samsung Galaxy Tab, stick with Apple iPad nalang for me. Sayang.
Samsung GTab is very expensive, if prices go more than the iPad, I think its better to stick with Apple.
Samsung Galaxy Tab will only be at the price range of $200-$300 on contract.

How is a $199- $299 tablet more expensive than the $499 iPad?
This one is a beauty!
Why is this one not sold here?
battery of this tablet is not user replaceable. In 6 months you will end up with a useless device that needs to be plugged in all the time.
anybody wants to join bulk order for an Android tablet with me?
it’s only 200 dollars and comes with cortex, froyo, replaceable battery.
