The Xiaomi Redmi Note (or Hongmi 2 as they call it in China) was reported to come in two different models — with processor and RAM the only ones different. It’s still unknown what names to call them just to separate the two options apart so let’s just refer to them as the high-end and low-end versions at this time.

High-end Redmi Note specs:

5.5-inch IPS display @ 1280 x 720 pixels with OGS technology, 178-degree viewing angle
1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor
Mali450 GPU
2GB RAM
8GB storage (expandable)
13MP rear with LED flash and 5MP front cameras
Dual-SIM (TD-SCDMA/HSPA for SIM 1 slot and GSM/EDGE for SIM 2 slot)
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
GPS
3200mAh battery
MIUI v5 on top of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

Low-end Redmi Note specs:

5.5-inch IPS display @ 1280 x 720 pixels with OGS technology, 178-degree viewing angle
1.4GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor
Mali450 GPU
1GB RAM
8GB storage (expandable)
13MP rear with LED flash and 5MP front cameras
Dual-SIM (TD-SCDMA/HSPA for SIM 1 slot and GSM/EDGE for SIM 2 slot)
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
GPS
3200mAh battery
MIUI v5 on top of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

The 1.4GHz variant of the Redmi Note will be priced at 799 Chinese Yuans (approx. Php 5,700) while the 1.7GHz model will be at 999 Chinese Yuans (approx. Php7,200). For a phablet, they’re definitely competitively-priced.

Both will be available in different colors to choose from and would be on the Chinese market starting March 26, eventually making their way to other countries after that.
