Earlier, we reported that Canon is rumored to release three new DSLR cameras this year , and we think that one of those will be the 7D’s successor. Now, CanonRumors may have some insider info on what the internals of Canon EOS 7D Mark II will be.
CanonRumors reports that they’ve received a tip from an anonymous informant about the specs of the upcoming successor of the Canon EOS 7D which is temporarily dubbed as 7D Mark II. Here are some of the info they’ve got:
• 24.1mp APS-C Sensor
• Dual DIGIC 5
• 10 frames-per-second
• Dual Memory Card Slots (CF + SD perhaps)
• 61 Autofocus Points
• 3.2? LCD (probably 1,024K dot, our opinion)
• Build quality like 5D Mark III
• GPS & Wifi
• ISO Performance to get close to the 5D Mark III
In addition to the info written above, the upcoming 7D Mark II is said to be released with a USD2,199 price tag, which is USD500 pricier than the 7D when it was first launched back in 2009. The rumored camera is also believed to possess a handful of video features to cater to film makers.
Canon remains mum about the topic, so do take this with the usual grain of salt. But if this rumor turns out to be true, then it’ll be a worthy successor to the famous upper mid-range dSLR camera.

If rmours are true, with the $1,000 price difference between the two cameras, you can almost buy the “beast” Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 lens along with the new D7100…
What happened to the part when Canon said that there is no need for a more than 21mp sensor when Nikon launched the D800? Is Canon slowly copying the MS/APPL marketing FUD?
$21,999 is obviously a typo error so cool lang kayo
WTF? 800k for a camera? that’s a price of brand new car. dang!
$21,999 = P893,599.38
Ronnie Bulaong, seriously?
Sorry for that. Got it fixed.
Thanks Ronnie!
The price is really tempting.
But once this gets released, getting the old but great 7D would be a steal too. Expect prices to drop a bit.
You have a good point. In fact, the last time I checked, some online retail stores are selling the 7D body for Php40k only. But i think that instead of repricing it, Canon will just discontinue this camera or else it’s gonna be a disaster for the 60D.
body pa lang yan?
is the price really USD 21,999?
thats almost a million pesos.
