Canon unceremoniously announced the successor to the PowerShot G11 today. The new Canon PowerShot G12 now includes HD recording capabilities and hybrid image stabilization features.

The Canon PowerShot G12 will be released this October with a suggested retail price of $499. Incidentally, Canon Philippines also sent us an invite next week for the launching of their new digital camera line. It’s very possible we will see the Canon EOS 60D and the PowerShot G12 there.

sigh.. as much as i love the feature set and performance of most Canon cameras, I just have to say.. they don’t make them pretty.
Of course it’s not the gear’s job to be pretty but rather to help get pretty images.. I realize that.. but still.. It wouldn’t hurt, would it? I wish for beauty to go with my brains..
