Handevision breaks new ground with Ibelux 40mm f/0.85

Kipon, a Shanghai-based photographic accessory manufacturer, has collaborated with IB/E OPTICS GmbH from Germany and came up with what they claim as the “world’s fastest lens for mirrorless cameras” – the Ibelux 40mm f/0.85.

By leveraging each other’s fortes (Kipon for cheap manufacturing process and IB/E for superior engineering standards), the Handevision was able to produce this lens with an opening of f/0.85 at its widest.

Instead of slugging it out with the big names in the lens industry, Handevision has opted instead to make a name in the mirrorless camera market which has a fairly limited lens selection. As such, it comes in various mounts that will fit popular MILCs including Sony NEXs, Fujifilm X-series, Canon EOS M and Micro-Four Thirds cameras.
