Nikon announces 24MP D5200

Nikon revamps their upper entry-level offering with the release of the 24MP-toting D5200. Apart from the sensor, the new DSLR sports a handful of improvements from the popular D5100.

The Nikon D5200 is outfitted with the new EXPEED3 image processor that allows it to shoot up to 5fps compared to its predecessor that can only go 4fps. Though both the D5100 and D5200 has the same DX format APS-C sensor, Nikon was able to squeeze in an additional 8MP on the latter’s sensor.

The camera is also equipped with Nikon’s latest GUI which is displayed on the 3-inch, 920k dots articulating LCD screen.
