Nikon D3100 dSLR gets Full 1080p video

Nikon introduced a new entry-level dSLR, the Nikon D3100, which has the capability of recording full HD 1080p videos.

The Nikon D3100 is the successor to the popular D3000 line and brings in a set of new features and upgrades.

Nikon D3100
14.2 CMOS sensor
ISO 100 – 3200 (expandable to 12800)
up to 3fps shooting speed
Full HD (1920×1080) @ 24fps
3″ LCD display
Live View
11-point AF system
EXPEED 2 image processing engine
Dual Integrated Dust Reduction System
SD card (SDHC- and SDXC-compliant)

The estimated $USD699 price tag seemed reasonable and it might catch up with Canon’s EOS 550D in the HD video department. The Nikon D3100 will come with a AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR as the kit lens.
